Deck the Halls with Local Shopping Joy!
The holiday season is here, and the Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the annual Shop Local Holiday Giveaway, a celebration of our vibrant local business community.
How It Works
Beginning Friday, November 29, shoppers will have two ways to win prizes totaling $1,250 when they "shop local" with participating businesses in Transylvania County:
Shop Local Passport
Anyone wishing to participate can get a passport card from our weekly Transylvania Times program ads or by picking one up at the Visitor Center. Shoppers will receive a stamp on their passport with each purchase they make at participating businesses (limit one stamp per person per day at each business location). Shoppers must return their completed passport (five stamps) to the Visitor Center by noon on December 20th to be entered to win one of two drawings for $250 in Transylvania Bucks.
Holiday Stocking Hunt
In addition, shoppers can look for a special holiday stocking at 15 participating business locations from November 29th through December 20th that have been randomly selected. No purchase is necessary to participate in the Holiday Stocking Hunt. Shoppers who find one of the holiday stockings will be encouraged to take a "selfie" at the business location for sharing on social media, and they must return the stocking to the Visitor Center to receive their prize of $50 in Transylvania Bucks. Limit one stocking per person.
What are Transylvania Bucks?
Transylvania Bucks spend like cash, but can only be used with this year's participating Shop Local Holiday Giveaway businesses prior to December 31st.
