George Ivey, North Carolina Development Director for the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, will be our speaker.
About our speaker:
George Ivey has a lifelong appreciation for the Blue Ridge Parkway. Born and raised in Asheville, George grew up less than two miles from the Parkway. As a teenager, he worked as a busboy at the restaurant at the Pisgah Inn. An avid cyclist, he bicycled the entire Blue Ridge Parkway in 2004. George brings robust experience in conservation and fundraising, including previous work for The Nature Conservancy, Friends of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and The North Carolina Arboretum, as well as eight years as a consultant assisting non-profit organizations and public agencies with fundraising and organizational development.
