Join us for Business After Hours from 5:00-7:00pm! Held on the second Tuesday of each month, members come together for an evening networking reception. A brief program includes recognition of the host, announcements, new member introductions and door prizes. This event is ideal for a business or organization who wants to show off its facilities.
This month's event will be hosted by The Sunset Motel. The Sunset Motel opened April 8th, 1955. At that time, the motel featured 10 rooms, plus hot and cold running water. Over the years it has hosted some notable guests including Robert Mitchum, while he was filming "Thunder Road" in 1958. Recently it was a part of the locally filmed movie "Rosebud Lane."
Many locals share stories about how the motel has played a part in their lives, from relatives staying at the motel to going on adventures in the forest. In 2022, the Sunset Motel hosted over 4,000 guests and a bunch of dogs. They are thankful for the loyal guests and locals who voted the Sunset Motel as the Number 2 Best Roadside Motel for USA Todays 10 best.
The Motel changed hands in March 2022, and now Andrew Schrader and Brian Haynes, who have worked together since 2003, operate the motel. Andrew has resided in Lake Toxaway since 2017, and Brian moved to Brevard in 2022.
The Sunset Motel looks forward to more involvement in the community... like hosting a Business After Hours!
