‘Tis the Season to Shop Local!

Want some extra exposure and traffic this holiday shopping season? Sign up to be a participating business sponsor for the 2022 Shop Local Holiday Giveaway!

This program incentivizes purchases and browsing throughout the month of December at participating business locations. Plus, contest winners use up to $1,250 in available prizes ONLY at those participating locations. This could be YOU!

Sign up by Sunday, November 13, to participate! See below for sponsorship options.

Red Level - $100 Gold Level - $350
  • List of business participants included on event webpage through Chamber site and on promotional materials
  • Promotional materials provided to your business during the event
  • Program promotion via Chamber radio spots on WSQL / Q102FM
  • Digital and social media promotion of entire program
  • A "how-to" tip list for making this contest successful in your store
  • The possibility of a winner spending their Transylvania Bucks at your store ($1,250 total)

All of the Red Level benefits, PLUS:

  • Display table space in the Visitor Center during the event
  • Logo featured on all participant listings
  • Weekly mention in the Chamber e-newsletter during the event
  • Special social media coverage during program, including an individualized shout-out during the event
  • Space is limited - Reservations for participation will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis

In order to participate and be included in our promotional materials, your registration and payment of $100 (Red Level) or $350 (Gold Level) must be received

by Sunday, November 13.


How It Works

Beginning Friday, November 25, shoppers will have two ways to win prizes totaling $1,250 when they "shop local" with participating businesses in Transylvania County:

Shop Local Passport

Anyone wishing to participate can get a passport card from our weekly Transylvania Times program ads or by picking one up at the Visitor Center. Shoppers will receive a stamp on their passport with each purchase they make at participating businesses (limit one stamp per person per day at each business location). Shoppers must return their completed passport (five stamps) to the Visitor Center by noon on December 16th to be entered to win one of two drawings for $250 in Transylvania Bucks.

Holiday Stocking Hunt

In addition, shoppers can look for a special holiday stocking at 15 participating business locations from November 25th through December 16th that have been randomly selected. No purchase is necessary to participate in the Holiday Stocking Hunt. Shoppers who find one of the holiday stockings will be encouraged to take a "selfie" at the business location for sharing on social media, and they must return the stocking to the Visitor Center to receive their prize of $50 in Transylvania Bucks. Limit one stocking per person.

What are Transylvania Bucks?

Transylvania Bucks spend like cash, but can only be used with this year's participating Shop Local Holiday Giveaway businesses prior to December 31st.
